Reimagine Christ-Centered Education · Opening Fall 2027

Where children discover their place in God’s story.

Olive Grove Learning Community is a Biblically rooted, relationally rich school serving the Durham/Chapel Hill area — built on Redemptive Education, where Scripture, real relationships, and the wonder of God’s creation shape every day of learning.

Our Mission

Engaging young hearts and minds in joyful learning.

As we explore God’s world and find our place in His story, children delight in learning, families are championed, and the kingdom of God is expressed and expanded by grace and truth.

A Non-Traditional Approach

Rooted in Redemptive Education

Redemptive Education is a Biblical framework for teaching and learning — one that asks every subject, every child, and every moment to be shaped by God’s design. We call its four pillars BRIE.

B

Biblical

Scripture isn’t a subject — it’s the lens for everything. God’s Word shapes how we see every child, every topic, and every moment of learning.

R

Relational

Human beings are relational creatures. Personal connections unlock deep learning. When knowledge interweaves with the stories of our purpose and passions, learning comes alive.

I

Integral

Real life has no classroom walls. Math, story, science, and art weave together according to God’s divine design. We educate the whole child — heart, soul, mind, and strength.

E

Experiential

God wired children to learn through wonder and play. We give children space to roam, explore, and encounter the world God made — because that’s where the deepest learning happens.

“How joyful are those who fear the Lord — all who follow His ways! Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table.”

Key Structural Principles

A different rhythm for childhood.

We’ve shaped our school structure around how children actually flourish — unhurried, connected, and free to wonder.

Multi-age classrooms

Older and younger children learn side by side, mentoring and growing together.

High value for outdoor learning

Direct observation of God’s creation is treated as core curriculum, not a break from it.

Small class sizes

A maximum of 16 children per class, so every student is truly known.

Active parent involvement

Families are champions in this community, not spectators of it.
